A Lineage of Healing Since 1914

Four generations, one enduring mission — from Muzaffarnagar to the world.

The Arogyadham family of Yogi Dr. Amrit Raj carries a lineage of more than 110 years in healthcare, Ayurveda and Yoga. It was founded by his great-grandfather, Late Dr. Gunwant Rai Agarwal, in 1914, who established Arogyadham at Muzaffarnagar. His grandfather, Vaidyaraj Late Shri V. C. Agarwal, carried the practice forward, and since 1982 his parents, Dr. Rakesh Agarwal and Dr. Neelam Agarwal, have led Arogyadham. Yogi Dr. Amrit Raj joined the family practice in 1999, and his brother, Dr. Arjun Raj, is also an Ayurvedic Doctor at Arogyadham today. His documentary on meditation and Ayurveda was telecast on BBC One and BBC Two across England, Ireland and Scotland.

He serves as Vice Chairman & Trustee of the Arogyadham Global AIDS Research Foundation — committed to charitable welfare work, especially for AIDS patients unable to afford medicine, alongside research, development, standardization and validation of natural herbal plants in the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus, joint pains, migraine and AIDS. The foundation holds exemption U/S 35 (I & II) by the Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India, with approval from the Ministry of Science & Technology for its research work. He regularly organizes camps, seminars, conferences and lectures to raise awareness of Yoga and Ayurveda.

He is Publisher of Arogyadham, an India-wide family health magazine with an approved circulation of 1,15,025 copies per issue certified by the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, distributed across India and abroad in Hindi. He is the author of A Book That Nourishes Body, Mind and Soul on Ayurveda & Yoga and a further book on Gharelu Nuskha, alongside numerous research papers published in national and international journals. Outside India he conducts spiritual retreats and yoga camps, and offers spiritual and Ayurvedic lifestyle consultations at Arogyadham Center. In 2008 he was key speaker at the Punarnava Ayurveda & Yoga International Conference.

He has been practising at Maa Yoga Ashram, Aamkhala, Tapovan, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, for the past 18 years.
